Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia
Born on June 22, 1965, in the village of Psyrtskha, Gudauta District;
1982 – graduated from the New Athos secondary school;
1982 – enrolled in the Faculty of History and Law of the Abkhazian State University;
1983-1985 – served in the Soviet Army in the air defence forces;
1989 – graduated from the Abkhazian State University with a qualification of "Teacher of history and social studies";
1989-1990 – history teacher in the Ordzhonikidze secondary school, Gudauta District;
1990 – appointed as secretary of the Komsomol Committee for management of consumer services in Sukhum;
1992 – served in the Abkhazian Guard of the New Athos Division;
1992-April 1993 – fought in the Afon-Eshera battalion;
April 1993-September 1993 – was part of the Intelligence and Counterintelligence Department of the Gumista Front;
2000-2001 – was an employee of the 10th department of the Government Protection Services of the Republic of Abkhazia;
2001-2005 – member of the fourth convocation of the People’s Assembly – Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia;
from 2017 – Head of the Expertise Office of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia;
from 2018 – Chairman of the Republican political party “Forum of the national unity of Abkhazia”;
from October 9, 2019 – Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia.
January 12, 2020 – in connection with the fact that President of the Republic of Abkhazia has resigned for the sake of preserving peace and stability in the Republic of Abkhazia announced his resignation from the post of the Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia.
Married, has three children.
