President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba expressed condolences to the family and friends in connection with the death of a journalist, culturologist, Head of the Centre for Ethnic and Religious Studies in the Media under the Russian Union of Journalists Sulieta Kusova-Chukho.
The text of condolences states, in particular:
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic news from Dagestan about the sudden death of Sulieta Kusova-Chukho.
Sulieta Aslanovna had a rare quality – she could unite people and direct their energy to creativity. This wonderful organisational talent of Sulieta Aslanovna clearly showed itself in the process of the implementation of the project of the North Caucasus Open Festival of Documentary Film and Television “Kunaki”. In Abkhazia, this celebration of culture became a significant event.
Sulieta Aslanovna is a famous journalist, writer of socio-political literature and culturologist. She was permanent President of the North Caucasus Open Festival of Documentary Film and Television “Kunaki” and Head of the Centre for Ethnic and Religious Studies in the Media under the Russian Union of Journalists. In the Caucasus and the Abkhaz-Adyghe world, Sulieta Aslanovna enjoyed popularity and great respect. The creative elite was drawn to her, and it supported her ideas and plans.
The untimely departure of Sulieta Aslanovna is an irreparable loss for the brotherly nations and the modern culture of Russia and the Caucasus.
