On November 1, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba attended a festival of culture of the Hamshen Armenians “Hamshen” which took place in the village of Makhadyr of the Gagra District.
The President greeted the guests of the festival:
“Such celebrations became a tradition. I am glad that these events are not strictly local. They are being held in different districts of Abkhazia, thus uniting our nations and allowing us to understand our history better. For us, it is important that these traditions grow in number. The leadership of the state will support these initiatives. It is important for the nations living in Abkhazia to be closer to each other.
The contemporary history of our nations demonstrates that this friendship should be strengthened and that conditions should be created for us to live under a peaceful sky.
The war of 1992-1993 became a clear demonstration of our relations. There, where friends stand by each other’s side, there will always be victory”.
At the event, the Head of State awarded the medals “For victory” to the veterans of the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia of 1992-1993:
