On October 19, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba had a meeting with the organisers of the participation of Abkhazian producers in the International Agricultural Exhibition “Golden Autumn – 2018”.
The Head of State greeted the participants of the meeting and congratulated them on their traditionally high awards at the exhibition:
“The results of the 'Golden Autumn' show that we do not stand still, that the process of state-building is ongoing. As we have remarked previously, we would have liked more opportunities for those companies that demonstrate successful results to establish ties with the Russian market. Ours is not a country that could provide the entire Russian market, but the quality of our products allows us to promote them. In today’s world, people actively use opportunities to become successful in that field. In its turn, the state should also actively support production.
I am grateful to all of you for your active work and for everything that you do. I would like to especially point out the work that was being done during all these years”.
The Head of State also instructed the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture to undertake all the necessary measures to support small and medium-sized business.
Trade Representative of Abkhazia in Russia Oleg Bartsits thanked the President for his high praise of the work to organise the exhibition. He also handed him the main award – the Grand Prix for the contribution to the exhibition in the nomination “Foreign States” which the Government of Abkhazia had the honour of winning.
“Dear Raul Dzhumkovich, I would like to thank you personally and on behalf of my colleagues, for the high praise that you have given to our activity. The fact that this year 22 companies participated in the exhibition, compared to 14 last year, already says a lot. This shows that the creative energy of our businessmen together with the efforts of the government give a tangible effect.
Like last year, this year the Government has covered all expenses to present our agricultural products. The results of our participation are ambitious and successful. There is a growing interest in the Abkhazian agricultural products on the Russian market. The official delegation that was present there, headed by the first Vice Prime Minister, has given additional significance to this forum which is the largest in Eastern Europe. We also had a business agenda, as there were meetings with the Minister of Agriculture, heads of foreign delegations, heads of Russian federal regions, and also a presentation of new projects that could also be implemented on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. At this stage, our main goal has been relatively achieved, as the number of companies grows, and the market is ready to receive their products. A middle class consisting of producers and owners is being formed. Our milk factory received two golden awards, and this is very significant. The participation of our wonderful dance ensemble ‘Kavkaz’ in a festive gala evening in the Kremlin became the quintessence of everything”, - said Oleg Bartsits.
First Vice Prime Minister Daur Arshba commented on the high level of organisation of the participation of Abkhazian producers in the exhibition.
“I saw how much energy and work was invested not only in the exhibition itself but also in its organisation. Without this, there would not have been such results. The employees of the Government also made their efforts, and in the end, this coordinated work brought such high results”, - said Daur Arshba.
At the International Agricultural Exhibition “Golden Autumn – 2018”, Abkhazian producers won 12 golden, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals.
