On September 9, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba held a meeting of the Security Council in connection with the tragic death of an outstanding statesman, Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gagulia. 


The President and the members of the Security Council honoured Gennady Gagulia’s memory with a minute of silence. 


The Head of State informed those present that a State Committee for the organisation of the funeral of an outstanding statesman, Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gagulia has been created. 


“Mourning will be declared. We should say farewell with state honours to our deceased friend Gennady Gagulia who has done so much for his Homeland”, - said the President. 


On September 9, a meeting of the members of the State Committee will take place. The Committee headed by the President includes:


Kvarchia V.E. - Speaker of the People's Assembly-Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Arshba D.D. - First Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Arsalia E.A. - Minister of Culture and the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Kove D.V. - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Ladaria R.M. - Head of the Administration of the Gudauta District; 

Mertskhulava Т.V. - President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia;

Sangulia D.R. - Head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Sangulia M.P. - Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly-Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Tsugba V.M. - social activist; 

Shinkuba A.E. - Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Republic of Abkhazia; 

Chkotua D.A. - Head of the Administration of the Lykhny village.
