On August 2, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba had a meeting with Abkhazian writers.
At the meeting, a wide range of issues in political and cultural spheres of the state’s life has been discussed. In particular, issues have been raised concerning the strengthening of ties with foreign compatriots, the development of the Abkhazian language, the distribution of periodical literature in the state language, the compilation and publication of a single spelling dictionary, and the role of the intellectuals in state-building. The participants of the meeting thought that the conversation was useful and expressed a wish that the Head of State would hold such meetings more often.
