On December 27, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin exchanged New Year and Christmas Congratulations.
Raul Khadjimba’s congratulation was as follows:

On behalf of the people and the government of the Republic of Abkhazia, I sincerely congratulate you on the New Year and Christmas.
In the past year, allied relations between Abkhazia and Russia were developing effectively for the benefit of our nations. We reached progress in the task of strengthening the legal basis of our relations, intensifying cooperation in the sphere of defence and security and moving forward on the path of socio-economic development.
I am certain that next year and afterwards, the Russian Federation will move forward under your leadership on its path as a strong, united and dynamically developing state, which has a great nation that is proud of its country and looks forward to the future with confidence.
