On March 13, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba had a meeting with writer Nikolai Kvitsinia on his birthday.
The President commented on Nikolai Kvitsinia’s significant contribution to Abkhazian literature. He expressed hope that the writer will have many achievements ahead of him.
“People know your works and translations, and your work as head of the “Alashara” editorial office. It was difficult to speak about one’s opinions in the Soviet period, but you succeeded in that. Today, you continue to speak openly about everything that concerns you”, - said Raul Khadzhimba.
Adviser to the President on culture, science and education Vladimir Zantaria remarked that there are not many people in Abkhazia, who have worked as hard as writer Nikolai Kvitsinia.
“His whole life is dedicated to one thing – the writing of prose, poetry, sociopolitical literature and making translations”, - said Vladimir Zantaria.
Nikolai Kvitsinia thanked the President for the invitation.
“At my age, only one thing concerns me, that is the number of unpublished books, which is the same as those that have been published. If I could publish them in my lifetime, it would make me very happy. Despite my age, I did not stop working, writing every day”, - he said.
The President remarked that the publication of his books will be supported as far as possible. Raul Khadzhimba congratulated the writer on his birthday and presented him with gifts.
