President Raul Khadzhimba visited the head office of the “Chernomorenergo”.

While observing the work of the company, the Head of State examined the substation "Sukhum-2", working facilities, workshops and the central control room. The employees of the company spoke to the President about the technical conditions of the equipment and pointed out problems that they must face at work.

Then Raul Khadzhimba held a work meeting with the heads of the “Chernomorenergo”. At the meeting, the discussion focused on the current problems of the company and the preparations for the upcoming tourist season.

The President remarked that in the winter period, power engineers adequately coped with all the problems.

General Director of the “Chernomorenergo” Aslan Basaria informed the President about the repair and recovery works, which aim to provide the citizens of the Republic with quality electricity. He expressed gratitude to the government and to the President personally for understanding the problems, faced by the employees of his company.

Raul Khadzhimba pointed out the low collection rate of payments for electricity and a large number of debts. The Head of State expressed certainty that to solve this problem, it is necessary to introduce stricter administrative sanctions. He reminded everyone about his instruction to the Government to write-off debts of previous years, on condition that the electricity consumed in the past two years is paid for.

Raul Khadzhimba denied allegations of selling electricity outside Abkhazia.

The President thanked the staff of the “Chernomorenergo” for their work and remarked that the government will continue to assist the energy sector. “Your employees make efforts to improve the service to our citizens. We understand the difficult state of the energy sector”, - stressed Raul Khadzhimba.
