President Raul Khadzhimba had a meeting with the heads of a public organisation “International Fund Apsny”.
President of the “International Fund Apsny” Soner Gogua told Raul Khadzhimba about the work of the Fund in the last year and about its projects. He stressed that while working with people, especially in the districts, the most important problems faced by citizens become evident.
Soner Gogua noted that although there are several areas of activity, in which the Fund is engaged, charity still remains the essence of the Fund’s work. These charity projects aim to help those parts of the population that lack social protection. “As part of our work, we implement a number of projects which aim to improve the demographic situation, develop the Abkhazian language and help families with many children. These are projects, such as “Apeipsh”, “Ani amaalyki”, “Aguabziara”, “Agurazra” and others. Besides, we give particular attention to children with illnesses. In particular, the Fund has started a program of assistance to children with cerebral palsy”. Soner Gogua noted that the Fund is working with Abkhazian families.
The President noted that he knows well about the activity of the “International Fund Apsny”. The Head of State praised the work of the Fund and noted that the state does not always succeed in helping all those who are in need, while charity organisations are able to assist the socially vulnerable.
Raul Khadzhimba stressed that it is important to increase the effectiveness of the state’s social policy. He also expressed hope that state structures and charity organisations will cooperate in this.
