Raul Khadzhimba met with Khibla Amichba, Representative Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Beslan Butba, Representative Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia in the area of trade and economic cooperation with foreign states, also participated in the meeting.
Khibla Amichba related to the Head of State about the work of the Representative Office and about the current and future events organised by the Office. “We work under the management and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia. We also cooperate with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Germany and with the unofficial Representative Office of South Ossetia”, - she added. “As you know, a lot of the representatives of our diaspora reside in Germany. Together with the State Committee on Repatriation and with our representatives in other countries, we are planning to conduct a worldwide census of Abkhazian diaspora, residing across the entire world”, - Khibla Amichba shared the plans with the President.
She emphasised that the census would be important for the obtaining of general and systematic information about the diaspora, its size and its level of fluency in the mother tongue. Raul Khadzhimba assured the Representative Plenipotentiary in the comprehensive support on this issue on the part of the government of Abkhazia.
Besides, Khibla Amichba told the President about the difficulties that she encounters in her work, most importantly about the active anti-Abkhazian propaganda of the Georgian Embassy, which is directed against the work of our representatives abroad. Khibla Amichba stressed that in spite of this, the work on the establishment of relations is being actively continued. “Before the end of this year, we are planning a range of events, including the arrangement of the days of Abkhazia in Berlin. On this issue we are working with the support and involvement of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Rossotrudnichestvo.
