The delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia led by Raul Khadzhimba met with the members of Government and members of the State Council of the Republic of Udmurtia.
The Head of Udmurtia Aleksandr Soloviev also participated in the meeting.
In his speech Aleksandr Soloviev noted that Abkhazia and Russia are bound with decades of common history. Today our states have the closest and friendliest relations. “We, as other residents of Russia, watched Abkhaz nation’s struggle for freedom and independence. We see the enormous efforts the leadership of the country puts in order to raise economy, improve the level of life of the population. Based on aforesaid I am confident that the potential of both our republic and yours lets us cooperate in different spheres”, said the Head of Udmurtia. He also noted that the filling of the signed memorandum with concrete content would take the economic, cultural and human relationships out to a new level, contribute to strengthening relations between Russia and Abkhazia.
Aleksandr Soloviev invited the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia to participate in the activities, dedicated to the jubilee of a great Russian composer Petr Ilyich Chaikovsky.
Raul Khadzhimba noted that this visit is a first step towards building mutually beneficial relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and Udmurtia. “I have no doubt that these relations would develop in the interests of both countries. The signing of the Memorandum on intentions to develop trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation is an important step in this direction”, stressed the President.
