March 24, 2015. Sukhum. The President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba met the parents of the missing in action volunteer from Adygea during the Patriotic war of the people of Abkhazia of 1992-1993 Galina and Valeriy Dikolenko. The Secretary of the Security Council Muhamed Kilba also participated in the meeting. Raul Khadzhimba presented a copy of the medal “For bravery”. The decree on decoration of Sergey Dikolenko with the medal was signed back in 1995 by the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba, but for some reasons it was lost and did not reach the family of the missing in action volunteer.
The President warmly greeted the parents of Sergey Dikolenko and noted that the leadership of the country will do everything possible so that the memory of their son and other valiant warriors that sacrificed their lives for Abkhazia’s freedom is passed to younger generations. “I want to believe that the war will not happen again, and that our children will only be implementing peace-building and creation”, added the head of the state.
Galina Dikolenko expressed her gratitude to the President for the invitation and high evaluation of the bravery of her son. “Your country is so beautiful and we hope that it will overcome the consequences of war in a short prospective”, she said.
Previously, in the course of the visit of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia to Adygea Raul Khadzhimba conducted a visit with the veterans of the Patriotic war of the people of Abkhazia of 1992-1993 and the parents of those volunteers killed in battle.
