On August 12, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba had a meeting with Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Yushchenko from the “Communist Party of the Russian Federation”.
The Head of State greeted the guest and expressed gratitude for his stance in support of the Republic of Abkhazia and active work to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
“Your attitude to Abkhazia is important to us. State Duma deputies, especially from the Communist faction, work quite actively to ensure that Abkhazia is known better in Russia, including its problems and the particularities of bilateral cooperation. Speaking of financial help from the Russian Federation, we set goals that would eventually lead to the economic independence of Abkhazia”, - remarked the President.
Aleksandr Yushchenko thanked the President for the meeting.
“For us, Abkhazia is not only our neighbour. It is a pearl of the Black Sea coast and the Caucasus Mountains, where our close friends and comrades live. It is important for your state to have independent economic development. You have done a lot of work, and the direction of the republic’s development is correct. I think that it should be continued”, - said Aleksandr Yushchenko.
