On March 19, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba held a meeting on the results of the inspection of the state healthcare institutions which was held by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Abkhazia, and also the issue of cryptocurrency mining on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The Head of State instructed the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to work in close cooperation in order to carry out the necessary work to detect the facilities that are involved in cryptocurrency mining. Moreover, the President instructed these agencies, including the State Customs Committee, to take under strict control the attempts at unauthorised importation across the state border of the technical equipment used to produce cryptocurrencies.
The Head of State instructed the Prosecutor’s Office, together with the republican unitary enterprise “Chernomorenergo” to ensure the collection of arrears for consumed electricity from the identified mining farms.
The State Committee for standards, energy and technical supervision of the Republic of Abkhazia is instructed to carry out the inspection of production facilities that use the energy of the “Chernomorenergo” for the purpose of unauthorised connection and misuse of allocated amounts of electricity.
The Cabinet of Ministers and the Administration of the President are instructed to complete as soon as possible the proposals and to present for consideration the normative and legal acts that regulate the cryptocurrency mining business on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
At the meeting, the Head of State pointed out to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia the violations that have been detected in some state medical institutions during an inspection. The Prosecutor’s Office was instructed to continue the thorough inspection of the financial activity of the state’s medical institutions.
The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to speed up the development by the Ministry of Health and the further approval of the necessary subordinate normative and legal acts which are necessary for the full implementation of the Law on Healthcare.
