On January 28, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba held a meeting on the issues of the current fishing season in the water area of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The Head of State raised the question on the necessity of stricter control over the established rules of fishing.
In this connection, the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Committee on Ecology and the Preservation of Nature were instructed to undertake all necessary measures to ensure the utmost transparency of the fishing process with an aim of detecting the real amount of fish that was caught.
The border unit of the State Security Service was instructed to undertake the necessary measures to control the compliance of fishing enterprises with the established rules and also law enforcement measures in relation to the violators of the law, including their expulsion from the Republic of Abkhazia.
The President also instructed the State Customs Committee to carry out strict control over the export of fishery products.
