Vitali Gabnia told the journalists about the opening of a school named after the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba in the village of Kara-Pago, Abazinsky District, Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
He thanked the Head of the Republic Rashid Temrezov for naming the school after Vladislav Ardzinba.
“In the course of two years, this school was built in the village of Kara-Pago, Abazinsky District, where around 1200-1300 people live. The event took place in a festive environment, and the leadership of the Republic was present”, - said Vitali Gabnia.
The Vice President remarked that in the period of Rashid
“National issues are always important in the Caucasus, and this includes the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. Rashid Temrezov understands the multinational people of the Republic well and he knows how to govern without infringing upon the interests of different nationalities”, - he said.
Vitali Gabnia pointed out that the citizens of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic have cordial feelings for the Republic of Abkhazia and its people.
“They value Vladislav Ardzinba greatly and also Sergey Bagapsh. He was a very warm person and had visited the Karachay-Cherkess Republic three times in one year, which was very important to the citizens of the Republic. It is necessary to pay tribute to Raul Djumkovich who already visited the Karachay-Cherkess Republic two times. His first visit after being appointed as President was to Rashid Temrezov. These days, the President also plans to visit two republics of the North Caucasus”, - added the Vice President.
Vitali Gabnia remarked that relations with the brotherly Republic continue to grow stronger and develop and that there is active interaction with the volunteers of the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia of 1992-1993 and their families.
